David Cortés

Lawyer Joined the firm in 1997 and has been a partner since 2003. He has led the firm since 2003, continuing the project founded in 1981 by Fermín Cortés and overseeing its institutional consolidation. Under his leadership, the firm has strengthened its internal structure, expanded its scope, and developed the capacity to handle increasingly complex matters with an integrated approach. His practice focuses on structured finance and debt restructuring, advising financial institutions and companies in strategic transactions. He has been involved in the design of legal structures and the management of processes requiring a high degree of coordination and technical analysis. David holds a law degree and has completed specialized studies in financial law.

Patricia Arriaga

Lawyer Joined the firm in 2003 and has been a partner since 2006. She leads the firm’s regulatory and administrative practice, focusing on regulatory compliance and interaction with authorities in regulated sectors. Her work has been key in consolidating this practice as an integral part of the firm’s service offering and in strengthening its ability to operate in complex regulatory environments. She has been involved in structuring legal strategies for regulated projects and in representing clients in administrative proceedings. Her work has contributed to integrating regulatory analysis as a central component in clients’ decision-making processes. Patricia holds a law degree and has completed postgraduate studies in regulatory law.

Christopher Valmont

Lawyer Joined the firm in 2002 and has been a partner since 2006. He leads the development of the firm’s financial practice, with a focus on the structuring of complex transactions and the financing of projects with a real estate component. His role has been instrumental in building the firm’s technical capabilities for high-level transactions and in advancing a more sophisticated advisory approach. He has advised clients in transactions requiring an integrated approach, contributing to the structuring of legal solutions aligned with business objectives and applicable regulatory frameworks. His experience has strengthened the firm’s involvement in matters requiring multidisciplinary coordination and technical precision. Christopher holds a law degree and has completed postgraduate studies in corporate law.

Sofía Tello

Lawyer Joined the firm in 2008 and has been a partner since 2013. She leads the firm’s compliance and risk management practice, with a focus on anti-money laundering and corporate responsibility. Her work has enabled the integration of compliance standards as a cross-cutting component of the firm’s services, strengthening its ability to identify and mitigate legal risks. She has been involved in the implementation of compliance programs, due diligence processes, and internal investigations. She has also contributed to the development of internal methodologies for risk assessment and the strengthening of corporate controls. Sofía holds a law and has completed specialized studies in compliance and anti- corruption.

José Ramírez

Lawyer Joined the firm in 2009 and has been a partner since 2015. He develops the firm’s real estate practice, focusing on the structuring and execution of investment projects. His work has contributed to consolidating the firm’s presence in the real estate and tourism sectors, as well as in transactions involving asset development. He has been involved in transactions related to the acquisition, development, and financing of projects, as well as in real estate regularization processes. He has also contributed to the implementation of legal structures for the development and commercialization of projects. José holds a law degree and has completed specialized studies in real estate law.

Ricardo Lomelí

Lawyer Joined the firm in 2006 and has been a partner since 2011. He leads the firm’s litigation practice, handling civil and commercial disputes. His work has strengthened the firm’s ability to resolve disputes and protect clients’ interests, particularly in complex matters. He has been involved in judicial proceedings and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, contributing to the comprehensive management of disputes. Victor Sanchez

Lawyer joined the firm in 2007 and has been a partner since 2012. He leads the firm’s tax practice, focusing on the structuring of tax strategies and the handling of tax controversies. His work has strengthened the firm’s capabilities in assessing and mitigating tax risks, as well as in integrating tax considerations into complex transactions. He has been involved in tax planning for significant operations and in representing taxpayers before tax authorities. Víctor holds a law degree and has completed postgraduate studies in tax law.
